Strong thunderstorm brings wind and flooding risks to Sherman and Hansford counties
A strong thunderstorm is moving through Sherman and Hansford counties, bringing the risk of damaging winds and localized flooding. The storm, currently located 4 miles east of Texhoma, is moving east at 15 mph and is expected to impact areas including Goodwell and Texhoma. Doppler radar indicates wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, which could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Residents outdoors are advised to seek shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring, posing a risk of flooding, particularly on roadways. Drivers are urged not to attempt to cross flooded areas.
