Strong thunderstorm with wind and hail moving through Dallas area
A strong thunderstorm with wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny-sized hail moved through parts of Dallas and Ellis counties on September 11. The storm was tracked by Doppler radar over Desoto and moving east at 5 mph, affecting multiple cities including Dallas, Desoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Lancaster, and Waxahachie, among others. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, potentially causing minor damage to outdoor items. The storm also impacted highways including sections of Interstate 35E, Interstate 20, and Interstate 45. Residents were advised to seek shelter indoors if outdoors.
