Frisco first responders gain real-time school access for emergencies

Education

Frisco firefighters, EMTs, and police officers now have instant access to school building details—including live video feeds—when responding to emergencies at district campuses. The program, called Situational Awareness For Emergency Response (SAFER), provides real-time information to help first responders navigate and assess incidents more effectively before arrival. The system covers all schools within the district, ensuring coordinated support during critical situations. The tool is designed to improve response times and safety by giving teams immediate visual and structural context. No other local agency has implemented a similar system for school emergencies.
