492 crimes were recorded in and around Darlington (East) in July 2026, according to figures published by Durham Police. That is up by 65 on the 427 recorded the month before.

The most common reports were:

Violent crime: 154 reports (31% of the total) Anti social behaviour: 110 reports (22% of the total) Criminal damage arson: 60 reports (12% of the total) Shoplifting: 40 reports (8% of the total) Public order: 29 reports (6% of the total)
