112 crimes were recorded in and around Seaham (Dalton-le-Dale, Murton and Hawthorn Village) in July 2026, according to figures published by Durham Police. That is up by 31 on the 81 recorded the month before.

Violent crime: 39 reports (35% of the total) Shoplifting: 25 reports (22% of the total) Anti social behaviour: 14 reports (13% of the total) Criminal damage arson: 12 reports (11% of the total) Other theft: 4 reports (4% of the total)
